Personal communication between Helen Morgan and Melbourne General Cemetery, November 2017, regarding:
- burials pre-1900 with the surname Blewett, Blewitt or Bluett (all three spellings were used), re. who was buried together, or who was buried as a pauper.
- burials up to perhaps 1920 with the surname Staines or Stains (both spellings were used), particularly any William Staines/Stains.
- specifically interested in the following Morgans: i) Elizabeth Morgan, buried 3 November 1894 at MGC ii) Fanny (Frances Fanny Victoria) Morgan, buried 23 October 1899 at MGC, whether they were buried in pauper graves and whether there is any information around the burial, such as who organised/paid for it. I have the death certificates for both Elizabeth and Fanny but there is no further information.
Information on 1 and 2 were supplied in a pdf document (attached) and 3 via email, viz:
- Elizabeth Morgan was buried on 3/11/1894 in a unmarked grave in the Other Denominations Compartment F area of the cemetery.
- Frances V Morgan was buried on 23/10/1899 in a unmarked grave in the Wesleyan Compartment K area of the cemetery.
