The quarterly meeting of the Working Band Lodge, No. 8, I.O.G.T., was held on Thursday evening last in Dr. Singleton's Mission Hall, Wellington-street, Collingwood, Bro. Williams, C.T., in the chair. The reports of the various officers were received and adopted; they showed that the lodge was progressing favourably, there being an increase in the membership, in the attendance, and in the funds.

The IOGT was the International Order of Good Templars, a temperance organisation. A 'Sister Vontom' was noted in attendance at this meeting, which can only be Ellen Vontom (the Vontoms were the only Vontoms in Victoria).
