I Gabriel Blewett of Collingwood do herby revoke all former wills made by me at any time and declare this to be my last will and testament and do hereby give and bequeath all my real and personal property whatsoever kind to my dear wife Ruth Blewett whom I appoint my sole executrix and to have the full enjoyment of the said property after my decease for the term of her natural life and that at her decease all real and personal property thereto belonging and situated at No 11 Marine Terrace Penzance Cornwall England I give and bequeath to my son Edward Blewett. Signed and delivered in the presance [sic] of the undersigned in Collingwood Victoria Australia in the year of Our Lord October the twenty second one thousand eight hundred and sixty three. Henry Charles Mears (1844-1875) was the son of John Mears (1810-1881), carpenter, Fitzroy. The Mears family arrived in Melbourne in 1852.

William Weir (1825-1890) was a long time friend and some time building partner of Gabriel Blewett. William Weir arrived in Melbourne in 1850; in 1867 he was living at 76 Oxford St, Collingwood; in 1868-69 he was living opposite the Builders’ Arms, 166 Gertrude St, Fitzroy.
