Dated this 18th day of October 1854, JW Blewett.
Gabriel John Blewett to do the work. Written as such, indicating John as a middle name of the younger Gabriel. The building application gives what is likely the Blewett men's earliest address in Melbourne – 2 Fitzroy street Collingwood (right on Victoria parade, now part of St Vincent’s Hospital). Moses Benjamin was a shopkeeper (see 'The Late Moses Benjamin JP', Jewish Herald, 7 August 1885, p.10).
