On the original shipping list for the 1859 voyage to Melbourne the Blewetts are among the last to be listed, mixed in with the Nicholls, as follows: Ruth Blewett, 60, matron; Eliza Nicholl, 35, spinster; Emma Blewett, 28, spinster; Edward Blewett, 22, [labourer?]; William Nicholl, 18, [labourer]. This could mean they had a connection with the Nicholls, or may simply have been a matter of deference in listing in order of gender and age.
